Riedlingen to Ehingen
When leaving the Hotel Gudrun, I saw Greg and Michele, another American couple, and an English fellow who was riding an old bike with 50 year old paniers. We all took off at slightly different times so none of us rode together.
The ride that day passed through the towns of Zweifaltendorf, Datthausen, Rechtenstein, and Munderkingen. There were many hills to climb, the two worst were in the towns of Datthausen and Munderkingen. When arriving at Ehingen, I stopped at a rest area near the river. There I met up with the English fellow from the morning, who was also riding alone on his old bicycle. I think his name was Karl but I'm not sure. We rode together up a long hill toward the center of Ehingen. Karl was continuing on to Ulm, where he was staying at a hostel. My hotel, the Sternplatz, was in the center of Ehingen so we parted ways as the bike trail went around the town center.

Power Station and Town of Rechtenstein
Riding through the center of Ehingen, there was a big street fair, with many food and beer stands. I decided to check into my hotel and then go to the street fair for some food and a beer. Checking in to the hotel was difficult as the hotel had an automated check-in machine and no staff. The machine would not accept my Amex card and wanted a PIN for my Mastercard, which I did not have. Finally, I was able to check in with my Visa Debit/ATM card, that had a PIN I knew, and I received my key card.
After freshening up in my room, I headed over to the street fair. Once there, I started feeling weak and broke out in a cold sweat. The bicycle riding had lowered my blood sugar too much and I was having a hypoglycemic episode. I made it back to my hotel and took a couple of emergency glucose tablets. Dinner that night ended up being snacks and a beer from the hotel's vending machine.
