Rear Connectors of ETM-100

PREWIRED CABLE ASSEMBLIES

All Adaptive Interfaces instruments use a standard, 9-Pin, Female "DSUB" lower connector for power and control lines and, with the exception of the ETM-100, use a standard, 15-Pin, Female "DSUB" upper connector for inputs and outputs.  These types of connectors are very common and can be purchased from electronic suppliers such as Digikey, Mouser and even Radio Shack.  They can also be a bit tricky to solder.  For this reason, Adaptive Interfaces offers prewired cable assemblies for all instruments.  The C-1 cable assembly, for the 9-Pin connector, is included with each instrument.  Specific cable assemblies for the 15-Pin connectors of each instrument can purchased separately.

These assemblies are made with high-quality connectors and aircraft-grade, MIL-STD 22759/16 teflon coated wire.  All wires have individual markings for ease of installation in an aircraft panel.

The assemblies come in standard lengths (see details below).  If you need a custom length, such as a sensor cable for a rear-engine aircraft (i.e. LongEZ) send us an e-mail (see Contact Us) for a quote.

NOTE - Because they are fireproof, solid metal housings are used for the connectors.  Some customers may want to replace these housings with ones that are lighter in weight.  A metalized plastic housing suggestion is the Norcomp 979-015-020R121 (15-Pin) and 979-009-020R121 (9-Pin) housings available from Digikey as part numbers 979-15MPE-ND and 979-09MPE-ND.

C-1 POWER AND CONTROL CABLE

THIS CABLE IS INCLUDED WITH ALL INSTRUMENTS

The C-1 Power and Control cable attaches to the lower 9-Pin "DSUB" connector on all Adaptive Interfaces instruments.  The C-1 has seven (7) 22ga. MIL-STD 22759/16 wires that extend approximately 16 inches from an all-metal housing.  All wires are individually marked and are used to connect to the instrument's Ground, Power, Alarm, Display Brightness and Backlight Brightness inputs/outputs.  The wire ends are stripped and pre-tinned with lead-free solder.  The C-1 also includes a ferrite bead as an extra measure to prevent any electrical interference with other aircraft instruments or avionics.

D-1 "Y" CABLE FOR THE MCD-100

The D-1 "Y" cable allows the MCD-100 to be placed between an altitude encoder or encoding altimeter and the aircraft's transponder.  The D-1 cable consists of a male and a female 15-Pin "DSUB" connector wired to a single male "DSUB" connector by sets of 14 MIL-STD 22759/16 22ga. wires.  The length of the wire sets is approximately 11 inches between all-metal housings.  This cable assembly is designed to be used with altitude encoders that use a standard, 15-Pin "DSUB" connector, the most common configuration for an altitude encoder.  A ferrite bead is provided for each wire set as an extra measure to ensure there is no electrical interference with other instruments and avionics.

$60.00

E-1 CABLE FOR THE MCE-100

The E-1 has 14 MIL-STD 22759/16 22ga. wires to connect the MCE-100 Mode C Encoder to a transponder.  The wires extend approximately 28 inches from an all-metal housing.  All wires are individually marked and tinned with lead-free solder.  The standard altitude encoder signals are as follows:  D4, A1, A2, A4, B1, B2, B4, C1, C2, C4, Strobe, Power (2ea.), and Ground.  The E-1 cable assembly also includes a ferrite bead as an extra measure to prevent any electrical interference with other aircraft instruments or avionics.

ES-1 CABLE FOR THE ESM-100 (SHUNT SENSORS)

The ES-1 cable allows the ESM-100 to connect to 2 separate shunt- type current sensors.  The ES-1 assembly consists of two 1-meter long, 2-conductor shielded cables attached to a 15-pin DSUB connector.  Shielding minimizes the effects of electrical noise from the engine on current measurements.  The cables are coated with fire resistant Tefzel and individualy marked.  The inner wires are 24 ga. with their ends stripped and pre-tinned with lead-free solder.  The ES-1 cable assembly also includes a ferrite bead as an extra measure to prevent any electrical interference with other aircraft instruments or avionics.

$50.00

ES-2 CABLE FOR THE ESM-100 (HALL EFFECT SENSORS)

NOTE - Hall-Effect sensors are still being developed for the ESM-100 and are not yet available.

The ES-2 cable allows the ESM-100 to connect to 2 separate Hall- Effect current sensors.  The ES-2 assembly consists of two 1-meter long, 3-conductor shielded cables attached to a 15-pin DSUB connector.  Shielding minimizes the effects of electrical noise from the engine on current measurements.  The cables are coated with fire resistant Tefzel and individualy marked.  The inner wires are 24 ga. with their ends stripped and pre-tinned with lead-free solder.  The ES-2 cable assembly also includes a ferrite bead as an extra measure to prevent any electrical interference with other aircraft instruments or avionics.

ES-3 CABLE FOR THE ESM-100 (HALL EFFECT AND SHUNT SENSORS)

NOTE - Hall-Effect sensors are still being developed for the ESM-100 and are not yet available.

The ES-3 cable allows the ESM-100 to connect to either Hall-Effect or shunt-type current sensors.  The ES-3 assembly consists of four 1-meter long shielded cables attached to a 15-pin DSUB connector.  Two cables are 3-conductor and two cables are 2-conductor.  Unused cables can be cut and removed from the assembly  The cables are coated with fire resistant Tefzel and individualy marked.  The inner wires are 24 ga. with their ends stripped and pre-tinned with lead-free solder.  The ES-3 cable assembly also includes a ferrite bead as an extra measure to prevent any electrical interference with other aircraft instruments or avionics.

OS-1 CABLE FOR THE OSM-100 (RESISTOR TYPE SENSORS)

The OS-1 cable allows the OSM-100 to connect to resistor-type sensors for both oil temperature and oil pressure.  The OS-1 assembly consists of two 1-meter long, 2-conductor shielded cables attached to a 15-pin DSUB connector.  Shielding minimizes the effects of engine electrical noise from measurements.  The cables are coated with fire resistant Tefzel and individualy marked.  The inner wires are 24 ga. with their ends stripped and pre-tinned with lead-free solder.  The OS-1 cable assembly also includes a ferrite bead as an extra measure to prevent any electrical interference with other aircraft instruments or avionics.
